For nearly three decades, Lowertown Redevelopment Corporation (LRC), a unique public-private partnership, worked with many other individuals and organizations to fulfill its mission of revitalizing Lowertown St. Paul, one of the city’s oldest and most historically important neighborhoods.
Generous funding from the McKnight Foundation and the ongoing support and cooperation of the city, combined with dedicated LRC leadership, creative planning and skillful execution have created today’s Lowertown—a vital, forward- looking community of committed urban dwellers, families, working artists and business owners—and a national model of urban revitalization.
In celebration of that remarkable achievement, in 2007 Lowertown Redevelopment Corporation capped its 30-year history by realigning its purposes and functions to meet the newly emerging and future needs of this exciting urban village, transferring its remaining assets to the newly-established Lowertown Future Fund, (also known as the LRC Fund).
