Eligible Projects

What types of projects are preferred?

Programs which are people-or community-focused and future-oriented are the Fund’s priority. The Fund’s outlook is opportunistic and forward-looking, with a deep dedication to building-- in Lowertown--an even  more exciting, diverse and livable “new urban village.”

Lowertow's riverfront
Reclaiming Lowertown's extensive riverfront is part of the bold and imaginative "River Garden Plan".

Our vision and inspiration for Lowertown’s future is drawn from the “River Garden Plan,” a bold and imaginative outline of an even greater future Lowertown. Portions of that plan are already becoming reality…in the restoration of the Union Depot, the coming of light rail, the reclamation of Lowertown’s extensive riverfront, and the opening of the Vento Nature Sanctuary and Lower Landing Park.

The Fund offers Lowertown as a model and a laboratory for other innovative approaches to community development, from organizations who embrace and share that vision.
